Who we are, what we do not do, and why notasoftwaredevelopmentcompany has never shipped a single product. Two cats are involved.
Who we are
notasoftwaredevelopmentcompany is not a software development company. We want to be upfront about that, because it is the only thing we are upfront about.
We know Linux, containers, REST API design and web development. We know how to compile C to WebAssembly so a donut can spin on a website. What we do not know is how to send an invoice, and we have no plans to learn.
What we do
Nothing you can buy. We build things that are not products: a font converter that turns text into box-drawing characters, and this website, which exists mainly so people can read that we are not a software development company.
What we do not do
Software development. Also estimates, deadlines, agile transformations, blockchain and AI strategy. The full list is on the front page, crossed out, which is how we like our services.
Our history
We were founded with a clear vision: to never sell any software. Every year since, we have hit that target. Our revenue is zero and has stayed zero, which our accountant calls “remarkably stable”.
We have had near misses. People have asked for quotes. Each time, the contact form told them “Error”, and each time, it was right.
Our team
The people do not want to be named. The two who do are cats:
- pspspsps, Chief Keyboard Officer. Responsible for every commit message that reads
fffffffffffff. - ksksksks, Head of Knocking Things Off Desks. Has never broken production, because there is no production.
